Just north of Tampa, in Land O' Lakes, Florida there is a little gem of a venue. Brand new and yet vintage at the same time, Knotted Roots on the Lake was the perfect place for a wedding like Ryan and Stormy's. The couple, both in the Navy, and who live in Jacksonville and have family all over the state of Florida- decided to host a small gathering of their closest friends and family to say "I do."
Stormy's two sisters and brother were by her side all day as she prepared to walk down the aisle. Her good friend came down to Tampa from Jacksonville to do her hair and make up. The groom's family owns a floral company in Maryland, volunteered in to do the flowers. They flew in, got in touch with a wholesale florist, and put everything together. The results were gorgeous! Too bad they don't work in Tampa!
Our sweet couple decided to do a first look for their wedding photos. I often recommend this to couples on their wedding day. If you haven't heard of the first look, I'll fill you in.... A First Look is set up before the ceremony, in a private location where the groom is waiting for his bride. He has his back turned, and she is brought in. She tells him to turn around and they see each other for the first time, in their wedding clothes, about to become man and wife. They embrace, and all the emotion of everything that has lead up to this moment comes bubbling to the surface. They have a few minutes to connect, talk and be together.
The bride was radiant as she came down the aisle on the arm of her brother. Ryan was so giddy and brimming with excitement. The bridesmaids wore sea green multi-way dresses, while the guys wore light gray suits. The flowers complimented the colors of the bridal party's attire perfectly. The ceremony site at Knotted Roots is so beautiful and tranquil... I felt worlds away from Tampa in this majestic intimate venue!
